Saturday, June 23 | 7AM Check-in, 8AM Start | Discovery Center


Entry fee includes a t-shirt, chip timer, post-race drinks and snacks, and chance for prizes! This event is sponsored by Citizens Community Federal of Oakdale.
Get ready for the annual Oakdale 5K! This race is for runners and walkers of all abilities. The route starts and finishes at the Discovery Center, 4444 Hadley Ave. N.

Amped Up Entertainment: “U of M Raptor Center”

Thursday, June 28 | 10–11AM | Discovery Center Amphitheater

The University of Minnesota Raptor Center will present three different raptors. An owl, hawk, and falcon will all be present on the glove of their trainers. Each bird of prey will be brought out individually and discussed. Free!

Eight weeks of summer fun! Campers play games, create arts and crafts, and participate in special events for each weekly theme.

Pee Wee T-Ball Session 1 (Ages 4 to 6)

Monday through Thursday, June 18 – June 28 | 10AM – 11AM | Eastside Park

Batter Up! Our skill-building program will develop and fine-tune t-ball skills through lead up games and drills. We'll work on catching, throwing, running and hitting. Participants must provide their own glove. Fee includes a t-shirt. (This is not a league.) Class sizes are limited to 20 participants. Register by June 11. $38.

Summer Storytime for Preschoolers

Join Katelyn, from the Oakdale Public Library, for a special Michael Hall story time. He’s an author from Minnesota! We will have fun talking, reading, singing, writing, and playing together. A simple craft will follow. Call 651-747-3860 to reserve your spot. Free.

KidCreate Studio: Glitter & Slime (Ages 4 to 9)

Friday, June 29 | 9AM – 11:30AM | Discovery Center

Glitter and slime are oh so fine! Come explore the messier side of art in this fun filled class. We will roll up our sleeves and make a mess s we mix up a batch of glitter slime and create an oh-so-silly jar to store it in. Make a mess is the best, especially when you leave the mess with us! Register by June 22. $29.

Farmers Market

Wednesdays, June 6 to October 3 | 2 to 6PM | City Hall Parking Lot

Purchase locally grown products that promote healthy lifestyles, while sustaining local agriculture at the Oakdale Farmers Market. Pick up a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, a bouquet of flowers, a loaf of bread, dessert, and so much more! Check out the Community Booth to see what is happening locally, and enter your name for a chance to win the Vendors Variety Gift Basket. This is the vendors' way of saying thank you for supporting the community and local businesses.

Therapeutic Yoga Flow

Therapeutic Yoga Flow is a gentle form of yoga. Focusing on fluid movement patterns, strength, and balance while rhythmically linking our breath with each posture, pausing at times to reconnect and center. Beginners are welcome, as are those who have practiced yoga before. All students are encouraged to move at their own comfortable pace. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat. Pickleball Lessons for Adults - Intermediate

You’ve learned the basics of Pickleball, now it’s time for practice drills and to learn more strategies! Pickleball is a great workout for all fitness levels. Equipment will be provided or bring your own. Ages 18 and up. Register by June 5. $20.

Learn how to safely do strength and flexibility building exercise for your own age group using the park's six new exercise stations! Wellness 50+ “ABCs of Fitness”

Thursdays, June 21 – August 9 | 6:30–7:30PM | Discovery Center

Learn the ABCs of Fitness (Agility, Balance, & Core Strength) for a stronger, healthier, and happier you! This fun class teaches core strength, balance & agility for all age groups through progressive exercise routines. Practicing your ABCs reduces the likelihood of falling, restores energy, and improves your mobility to help you enjoy an active life-while you have fun doing it. The class is taught by Susan Weum, an experienced Certified Personal Trainer who has broad experience working with people of all ages, including older individuals and anyone who wants to put aside their sedentary lifestyle to live more active, healthier lives. Wellness 50+ “Learn Your Strengths and How to Improve Them”

The team has prepared a new series of events to evaluate and improve upper and lower body strength. Come to the first session which includes a Senior Fit Test and exercises. Then join us for more help in two subsequent sessions during the summer. Final evaluation in September will make you feel proud! Register by calling 651-747-3860. Free.

Road Trip: “Goin’ Out Country” at Skyrock Farm & Carousel
