On 09/23/2022 around 2:15 a.m., Officers of the Oakdale Police Department attempted to arrest a 51-year-old male for a felony threats of violence warrant. When Officers confronted the male in his front yard, the male retreated into his home. Shortly thereafter, the male exited the home holding what appeared to be a long gun. The male did not fire the weapon and Officers disengaged. The male went back into his home and phone contact was established between the male and the police.
The Oakdale Police Department, in collaboration with other Washington County Law Enforcement agencies, coordinated an arrest effort that included negotiators communicating with the male. Negotiations are continuing. Oakdale Police ask citizens to avoid the area of the 2600 block of Greystone Avenue North.
An updated press release will be sent after the incident is resolved.
At 12:45 p.m. Oakdale Police arrested Oakdale resident Anthony Joseph Jansen and transported him to the Washington County Jail for a felony threats of violence warrant. Oakdale Police would like to thank the public for their cooperation while law enforcement worked toward finding the safest resolution for all involved.
