Registering to Vote

You need to register to vote if your name or address has changed on the voter registry, you have not voted in the past four years, or this is your first time voting.  You can register before election day or at your polling place by providing the required proof of residency.

Register before election day at the MNVotes website.  Registration deadline for the August 14 primary election is July 24. Registration deadline for the November 8 general election is October 16.

Absentee Voting

Persons wishing to vote by absentee may do so by mail or in person. Application forms for ballots are available at the MNVotes website or by calling Washington County at 651-430-6175. 

PRIMARY ELECTION:  Absentee ballots for the primary election are available from June 29 to August 13.

GENERAL ELECTION:  Washington County has added Oakdale City Hall as its fifth in-person absentee voting location for the November 6 2018 General Election. Absentee voting begins September 21 and ends November 5. Other absentee voting locations are: Cottage Grove, Stillwater, Forest Lake, and Woodbury.  Washington County residents may utilize any of these locations. Please note that Oakdale City Hall will not be a polling location on August 14 or on November 6.
