Oakdale’s rental housing program requires that all rental property in the City obtain a Rental Housing License each year. To obtain a license, complete the Rental Housing Application (PDF) or download the form and mail it in with payment. After we process the application, you will be sent a rental license for the current year and a date and time to meet the City inspector at the rental property.
The licensing period runs from January 1 to December 31. Applications are mailed out to all existing license holders in mid-December; applications are due January 31.
Chapter 7 of the City's code (PDF) covers property maintenance and rental housing licensing. The 2012 International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) has been adopted as the housing standard the City uses to inspect all residential and commercial property. Copies of the 2012 IPMC are available at City Hall for viewing.
