Election Judges Needed for 2018

During the 2018 Primary Election, August 14th, and the General Election, November 6th, approximately 2,000 Election Judges will be needed to staff polling locations throughout Washington County. Judges are particularly needed for the cities of Forest Lake, Grant, Landfall, Oakdale, Pine Springs and Woodbury. Election Judges and Election Judge Trainees are the officials who staff the polling locations and ensure that the rights of voters are protected on Election Day.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Election Judge

  • U.S. citizen eligible to vote in Minnesota.
  • At least 18 years of age (if you are 16 or 17 years old, see our section on student election judges!).
  • Able to read, write and speak English.
  • Complete a two-hour training

Student Election Judge

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Have approval from their parents and their school’s principal.
  • Must submit a written request to their principal at least 10 days before Election Day.
  • Must complete an application that is to be signed by their parents/guardians and their school’s principal
